SAMPLE ITINERARY - TIMELINE OF THE LIFE OF JESUS CHRIST
April 17 - 27 from Los Angeles

DAY 1 - Departure from USA

Departure will be from your gateway city & International airport. Flight is overnight to Israel to Tel Aviv. Meals served on board the plane.
DAY 2 - Arrival to Israel, Tel Aviv – Jerusalem/Bethlehem
Upon arrival to Ben Gurion airport we will meet with our Catholic Holy land guide and head towards the Jerusalem. Today in the afternoon pilgrimage will start with visit to Ein Karem; you will visit the Church of Visitation the site of the Blessed Virgin Mary's visit with her cousin Elizabeth. This is the place where Our Lady said Her "Magnificat". Visit here will also include the birthplace of St. John the Baptist. Later group will check in to hotel, rest before dinner and overnight.
- First day program in the Holy land depends on the time of arrival, flight schedule, and will be adjusted accordingly, if not possible upon arrival first day visits will be moved for day or two later.
Day 3 - Bethlehem
In the morning after breakfast we drive to Bethlehem ("house of bread" in Hebrew). First is the visit to the Shepherd’s Field where Angels appeared to the shepherds (Luke 2), to announce the Birth of Jesus. Later to visit the church of Nativity built over the tomb of St. Jerome, In the Grotto under the central altar we will walk by the Holy Manger, and the Silver Star with the Latin inscription "Hic de Maria Virgine Jesus Christus Natus est". Time for your own prayers before you return to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 - Bethlehem – Nazareth – Cana
In the morning after breakfast you will leave for Nazareth, here upon arrival group will celebrate Holy mass and visit Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus and the place where He spent the first 30 years of His life. We will pray in the church of St. Joseph and the basilica of the Annunciation where the Angel Gabriel
announced to Mary that She would be the Mother of God. A walk through old Nazareth brings us to see the Well where Mary went for water, visit Orthodox church there. After lunch break tour will continue to Cana the site of Jesus' first miracle. In this little town we will have the Renewal of the Marriage Vows and blessing of families. Check in to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 5 - Nazareth – River Jordan – Capernaum – Tabgha
This morning pilgrimage In the Footsteps of Jesus continues with visit to river Jordan, river in which Jesus was baptized by St. John. Here you will have chance to renew your baptismal vows. Next on your route is visit to Capernaum, where Jesus lived; new church built at the site of the Home of St. Peter, ruins of the synagogue where Jesus preached, one that had being built in the time of Jesus. Through story of our guide we will get to know more of the Life of Jesus in Capernaum. Same day you will enjoy a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee before going to Tabgha, the site of the Multiplication of the loaves and fishes and the church of St. Peter's Primacy. Today’s pilgrimage is over and we return to our hotel.
DAY 6 - Mt. of Beatitudes – Dan & Caesarea Philippi
This morning you will drive to Mt. Of Beatitudes where the Lord Jesus preached Sermon on the Mountain celebrate the mass here and continue to Upper Galilee and Caesarea Philippi (Banias) to the Dan city laying at the southern base of Mount Hermon (Syria) and was the northernmost point of the ancient Israelite kingdom: “from Dan to Beersheba” (2 Samuel 3:10). Dan was a Phoenician city, originally named Leshem (Joshua 19:47) or Laish (Judges 18:7), which was conquered by Dan’s tribe when it migrated northward.
Then to Caesarea Philippi which is also the site of Peter’s Confession, “Who do they say I Am”….Mathew 16:13 -16…and “You are Peter….” Mathew 16: 18 - 19. located on the southern slopes of Mount Hermon near the ancient city of Dan, this city is found at the northern extremity of Palestine. It lies in the Wadi Banias, a beautiful area near the Jordan River. Return to hotel, rest before dinner and overnight.
Day 7 - Mt. Tabor – Jericho
This morning to beat the afternoon crowd we will drive to Mt Tabor. We will take a short taxi drive up to the mountain to visit the Church of Transfiguration.
After visit we will head south through the Jordan Valley to Jericho, the oldest known continuously inhabited city in the world. After a stop to tell the story of Zacchaeus and renew ourselves “The Parable of Good Samaritan” we will have stop for lunch. Later you will drive through Judean Desert, passing by the Mt of Temptation. Same late morning continue to Qumran, the place where Dead Sea Scrolls were found, more than 900 pieces in 30 caves.
Stop for “Dead sea” experience – swim in the Dead Sea…before continue to our hotel in Jericho.
DAY 8 - Jerusalem – Mount of Olives
After breakfast we start our day with the Mt. of Olives to visit the Ascension chapel – we believe that it was here Jesus ascended to heaven 40 day after the Resurrection. Next on the schedule is the Pater Noster – site of where Jesus taught his disciples the Our Father – “Pater Noster” .View of the Holy City from atop the Mount of Olives is time for good orientation moment. We then walk down the Palm Sunday Road, the road Jesus followed on His way to Jerusalem. We stop at the chapel of Dominus Flevit where our Lord wept and shed a tear for the city of Jerusalem (Luke 19: 37- 42). We than proceed to the Garden of Gethsemane and pray at the church of All Nations (Church of Gethsemane), where Jesus prayed: "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me, nevertheless, not my will but your will be done". At the end of the day you will visit the church of St. Peter Gallicantu, the church built on the site of the house of high priest Caiaphas. This is where Jesus spent night in the dungeon after his arrest. On this site Peter denied Jesus three times and the cock crowed (Gallicantu). Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 9 - Old City of Jerusalem and “Via Crucis”
Jerusalem is our destiny, today you will enter the Old City and follow the Stations of the Cross the Via Dolorosa, from Pilate’s fortress and Flagellation Chapel to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, site of Crucifixion and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Same day you make The Way Of The Cross we will visit and
pray at the pool of Bethesda where Jesus Christ healed a man who was crippled for 38 years. The Church of St Anne one of the rare churches that was spared from destruction of Moslems. lt is over the crypt venerated as a birthplace of Mary and a home of her parents Joachim and Anne. In the afternoon some free time for shopping in the Old Jerusalem market. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY 10 - Mt. Zion - Western Wall
This morning we will go back to old Jerusalem to Mt. Zion, and visit the Upper Room where the Last Supper took place, and the church of Dormition where the Blessed Virgin Mary fell into Eternal Sleep. You will then go to the Temple Mount area with the Cardo Maximus, street from the Roman times and then end by the Western Wall of Solomon's Temple, with the Al Aqsa and the Dome of the Rock mosque above it. Final and farewell dinner at the hotel in Jerusalem.
DAY 11 - Jerusalem - USA/Canada
Group has transfer to Tel Aviv airport for flight back home to the US, arrival same day.
